MS Word Tips for Electronically Improving Writing Style

To help you improve your writing I suggest you make the following changes to your MS Word settings. [MS Office 2010]
  • Select the ‘Language’ icon in the ‘Review’ plane.

  • From there select ‘Language Preferences’
  • This will open the ‘Word Options’ menu.

  • Then select the ‘Proofing’ sub-menu from the list in the left margin.

  • In the ‘Proofing’ sub-menu, select the ‘Writing Style’ drop down box and select ‘Grammar & Style’.
  • Click ‘OK’
  • Now your essay will include squiggly blue lines, which indicate errors in style as the green squiggly lines indicate grammatical errors and the red squiggly lines indicate spelling errors.
